AOC-in-C WAC expresses condolences on demise of CDS Rawat

New Delhi, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Western Air Command (WAC) Air Marshal Amit Dev leads in expressing profound grief and condolences of all personnel and families of Western Air Command on the demise of Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Bipin Rawat, his wife Madhulika Rawat and all the officers and personnel who lost their lives in the helicopter accident.

Air Marshal Dev remembered General Rawat, who was a recipient of Param Vishisht Seva Medal (PVSM) Uttam Yudh Seva Medal (UYSM) Ati Vishisht Seva Medal (AVSM) Yudh Seva Medal (YSM) Sena Medal (SM) Vishisht Seva Medal (VSM) ADC, for his contribution to the Armed Forces. His efforts towards modernising Armed Forces shall remain etched in the memory of the nation.

It may be noted here that an Indian Air Force Mi-17V5 which was flying from Sulur airbase to Defence Services Staff College (DSSC) Wellington carrying Gen Bipin Rawat, DWWA President Madhulika Rawat and 11 other military personnel met with a fatal accident on December 8. CDS Rawat, Ms. Rawat and 11 personnel were died in the incident.
